About Osteopathy:
Osteopaths believe everyone can benefit from a tailored, whole-person approach to health. People of all ages see osteopaths, from babies to the elderly.

You can expect your osteopath to take the time to understand your individual history, circumstances and unique physiology and provide a care package tailored to your needs. This can include manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises, screening and general health advice.

Osteopaths undergo intensive training over 4 years and are skilled in diagnostic techniques to assess, identify and treat musculoskeletal complaints.
Our goal is to develop a treatment plan tailored to you by combining osteopathy, massage techniques, dry needling, manipulation and exercise rehabilitation ensuring we provide the highest level of care to optimise your recovery and long-term prevention.
Cranial Osteopathy:
Cranial Osteopathy is a gentle form of osteopathy. Using a highly trained sense of touch to feel subtle tension changes and tissue quality in bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons & fascia. Although beneficial for everyone, it is particularly effective for treating babies, children and the elderly.
Osteopathy For Toddlers and Children:
Injuries aren’t just for adults – muscle and joint strains and sprains can happen to children of any age, as a result, of poor posture in an unsupportive car seat, a rolled ankle playing chase, or a collision on the football pitch. These are all things to watch out for, as children learn new skills, they push their bodies to the limit.
These stresses and strains mustn’t have an ongoing effect on their musculoskeletal growth and development.
This is where our osteopaths are here to help. Using various osteopathic techniques to treat your child and work with the family, implementing strategies at home to help their bodies heal, making sure they get back to doing what they love most!
Pre- and Post-Natal Osteopathy:
During pregnancy, your body undergoes a tremendous change to accommodate the growing foetus. Apart from the noticeable physical changes like expansion of the abdominal region, hormonal changes can affect the function of your body’s internal systems.
As your pregnancy progresses the extra weight creates a shift in your body’s centre of gravity. As a result, your supporting ligaments also soften. These factors can lead to increase stress and strain in joints, ligaments and muscles within the body, causing problems like back pain, sciatica, insomnia, shortness of breath, swelling, high blood pressure and fatigue.
For some women, the physical demands of pregnancy can be challenging and may exacerbate pre-existing complaints from poor posture and/or injury.
Osteopathy is a safe form of treatment throughout pregnancy helping to identify and treat strains and areas of discomfort. Our goal is to develop a treatment plan tailored to you by combining gentle manipulation of joints, stretching and massaging of muscles and soft tissues to help you in the preparation for the latter stages of pregnancy, labour and the post-natal period helping expectant and new mums to recover physically and mentally.
New mums commonly experience the following problems:
- Low back pain
- Muscle aches
- Pelvic or hip pain
- Pubic symphysis strain (pain at the front of the pelvis)
- Muscles aches
- Neck & shoulder pain from holding and feeding the baby
Mum and Baby Osteopathy:
Mum & Baby checks are offered as joint appointments for both Mum and Baby. The appointment is an assessment-based treatment that lasts approximately 90minutes.
Although you are welcome any time, an ideal time for a Mum & Baby check is around 6 weeks after the baby is born. Your osteopath will discuss your pregnancy, birth history, general health and any specific concerns you would like to highlight.
Osteopathy is a holistic therapy that uses both medical and musculoskeletal knowledge to help diagnose, treat and prevent your symptoms. Tailoring each treatment to you and your baby, aiming to restore the balance of the structural and functional components of the whole body. Your osteopath will give advice on sleeping postures, tummy time, feeding holds, pelvic floor and core stability exercises.
Women’s Health:
During a woman’s life, there are many different stages of emotional, physical and hormonal changes. From puberty, pregnancy, motherhood and menopause, every stage presents its own challenges. Up to half of all women experience weakness in both the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles post pregnancy and up to a third can still have a tummy gap eight weeks post-birth. This can lead to instability and weak core strength and in turn progress to back or pelvic pain, bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction.
Including:
- Full postural screen
- Pelvic floor muscle assessment
- Abdominal muscle exam to check for any separation
- Screening for bladder, bowel or sexual dysfunction.
